Last month, Dallas Animal Services took in a furry stray family. The mama dog is a shepherd mix who recently gave birth to 11 adorable puppies. And while all of them are charming, workers quickly noticed that this litter has something extra special.
Facial hair is normal for canines. In fact, every dog is born with it. While a few may have pronounced beards, this exceptional pup has something unique. She has a spaghetti mustache or what is commonly known as handlebar mustache.
The family stayed under the shelter’s care for 2 weeks. Though adequately cared for, the shelter has about 100 intakes each day. And workers knew that the situation was simply unsustainable.
Knowing that puppies are highly susceptible to sickness, Hearts and Bones Rescue came forward to help. They pulled the family out and placed them in an incredibly caring foster family in Dallas.
When the rescuers came to meet the family, they were smitten with all the puppies, including the mama dog. But Salvador Dolly received most of the attention because of her looks.
While others were in complete disbelief that her handlebar mustache is real, most people are amazed. And instead of being known as Salvador Dolly, her official name, the pup became famous as “Mustache Puppy.”
A 5-week-old puppy is a bit too young to develop a mustache. Nevertheless, she’s completely rocking her hipster look and is never too ashamed to show them off.
The furry family will be staying with their current foster until all the puppies have been weaned. By the end of this month, they will fly to NYC where new foster families are waiting. They will stay with them until they find their perfect forever homes.
For now, Mustache Puppy and the rest of her family are thriving in their foster home. But when the time comes, they sure will find the perfect family to spend the rest of their lives with. After all, who could resist a darling like Dolly?
