On Thursday morning, a passerby caught a touching moment of Florida police officers comforting two wounded Pit Bulls who looked to be abandoned. When the Orange County Sheriff’s deputies found the two frightened Pit Bulls in the middle of a busy Orlando street, they immediately rescued the poor animals.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office shared on their Facebook account that two of their Squad 10 agents from Sector 4 chanced upon two sweet-natured Pit Bulls. While one dog was injured, the other pup seemed to be unharmed, but both were very scared.
The two dogs were discovered in the middle of the road near Oakridge and South Orange avenues. A concerned citizen named Adam sent The Orange County Sheriff’s Office the photos of Deputy Boggs, and Deputy Reed consoling the two frightened Pitties.
Adam proudly shared that the officers stayed with the frightened pups until the Animal Services arrived to pick them up. The officers even applied a bandage to the dog’s injured leg to stop the heavy bleeding.
The deputies’ quick thinking saved the injured dog from excessive blood loss. Adam said that the photos he took of the deputies’ loving nature would tug anyone’s heartstrings, especially the animal lover ones.
Over 6,000 Facebook users reacted to the officers’ kind gesture towards the animals in need. Nearly 900 individuals left a comment on the Orange County Sheriff’s Office’s post, thanking them and asking if they could take the dogs with them.
One recently retired disabled officer even asked if he could adopt one dog. Another citizen even asked how she could thank the deputies for the kindness they have shown to the often-misunderstood Pit Bulls.
Thanks to the brave officers who took their time to comfort and rescue the dogs, they became the dogs’ stepping stone into finding their fur-ever home. True enough, the deputies proved that they do serve and protect the most vulnerable ones in their society.
